The origins of the game of dice (craps) are not very
clear. Nobody really knows how and when the nuts were
born. Some scholars argue that gambling with dice date
back to medieval times.
It is commonly accepted that the current form of dice
casino has developed a game called "gambling" (Hazard),
who was a popular betting game practiced by the British
at the time of the Crusades.
When Europeans began traveling to other places in the
world, they brought with them their games, sport around
the world. Some believe that the British were
responsible for bringing the game of dice in the United
States. Others say that the French were the real
culprits of this export. The only thing certain is that
the French gave up the dice popular in New Orleans.
Most likely the name of the game comes from the name of
a French gentleman named Johnny crapaud (crap means frog
in French). Some friends had nicknamed him Craupad crap
because the gentleman had a passion for these
amphibians.
The modern craps table was invented by a man named John
H. Winn. With this new table, the punters had more game
options. There was a new area added to the betting do
not pass, so a punter could now bet with or against the
shooter. In the history of craps English and French
there is a game where you use two dice to play twins.
